Alert Regular Mobility Young (ARMY)


Army Full Form In English is Alert Regular Mobility Young. An army is a large group of soldiers who are trained to fight on land with all the equipment to fight. An army protects its country’s citizens from external threats. Army has always been an important part of human history and has played a vital role in shaping the world.

An Army’s main role is to defend a country from invasion, maintain peace and security within its borders and support its national interests. Moreover, armies are called in the time of natural disasters and other emergencies. Armies are divided into units that specialise in roles like infantry, artillery, cavalry, and special forces. With these operations armies also engage in training exercises, peacekeeping missions and disaster management. To sum up, an army is an important part of our nation’s defence and security infrastructure that plays a crucial role in safeguarding its citizen’s interests.

What is the full form of ARMY?


The full form of ARMY is Alert Regular Mobility Young. Each letter represents a characteristic of the Indian Military personnel.

A (Alert)- Being alert and prepared for fast reactions during military missions is very important.

R (Regular)- Following and living a structured and disciplined life with consistency and adhering to protocols is an important part of military life.

M (Mobility)- Spotlights the military's ability to move quickly and efficiently, ensuring they can be deployed promptly wherever they are needed.

Y(Young)- It shows the liveliness and energy usually found in younger military personnel, helping to make the armed forces more flexible and able to adapt quickly.

PROUD INDIAN ARMY VICTORIES



1. Indo-Pakistan War OR First Kashmir War (1947-48)



This war was the start of the Independent Indian Army. Indian army was defending the state of Jammu and Kashmir against Pakistani forces. To protect their land, the Indian army defended the state which led to the formation of the Line of Control. This stopped the war but started a long-lasting dispute over the land.


2. Indo-Pakistan War (1971)



This Indo-Pakistan War came to an end with the most surrenders of 93,000 combats and officials of the Pakistani Army. Since World War II these were the most surrenders done. The result of the war created an independent state Bangladesh.


3. Liberation of Goa


Also known as Operation Vijay, 1961. The Indian Army carried out a mission to free the areas of Goa, Daman and Diu from Portuguese control. This operation showed the country’s determination to protect these regions and bring them under the Indian Union. This well-planned operation was successful which led to the liberation of these regions. This was also a demonstration of India’s commitment to end colonial rule and unite the country.


4. Battle of Longewala as shown in Bollywood Movie


The famous Bollywood movie ‘Border’ is based on the Battle of Longewala or the Second Kashmir War. This battle had only two casualties of the Indian Army soldiers. This war was fought between India and Pakistan in December 1971. Indian Army was outnumbered with only 120 Indian Soldiers and 2000 Pakistani soldiers. Even then the Indian Army managed to win the war.


5. Formation of The Bailey Bridge



Built by the Indian Army in August 1982. This bridge is located in Ladakh valley between the Dras and Suru rivers in the Himalayan Mountains and is the highest bridge in the world.


6. Operation Rahat (2013)



This was one of the world’s biggest civilian rescue operations ever. Carried out by the Indian Air Force, this mission was to evacuate the civilians of Uttarakhand affected by the floods. During the first phase around 20,000 people were airlifted by Indian Air Force. A total of 3,82,400 kg of relief material and equipment were dropped.


7. Indo-China Wars (1967) you don’t know about


The Nathu La Conflict in September 1967 and The Cho La Conflict in October 1967, also known as Indo-China Wars and Sino-Indian Wars were a series of border clashes between India and China. This tension was settled by making agreements to manage future border tensions.

- On the last day of the 1965 war between India and Pakistan, Squadron Leader K.C. Cariappa, son of then General K.M Cariappa was flying near the Pakistan border and Pakistanis shot him down. Later he was taken as a Prisoner by the Pakistan Army.

- During the interrogation, the Pakistani army came to know that he was the son of General Cariappa. Then the Pakistani General Ayub Khan offered to release Junior Cariappa.
