What is NDA Examination?

The NDA (National Defence Academy) Examination is a competitive exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for admission to the Indian Defence Forces, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The exam is conducted twice a year, usually in April and September.

Eligibility

Nationality:
(i) a citizen of India
(ii) a subject of Nepal
(iii) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and EastAfrican nations including Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the goal of settling permanently in India.

As long as a candidate falls under categories (ii) and (iii) above, they must be people.

Note –The requirement for an eligibility certificate will not apply to applicants who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.

Educational Qualifications:
(i) For Army Wing of NDA:
For the NDA’s Army Wing, you must have completed your 12th grade under the 10+2 schooling pattern or have passed a test of equal difficulty administered by a state education board or university.

(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: Pass the 12th grade with math, physics, and chemistry using the 10+2 schooling schedule, or the equivalent exam taken at a state education board or university.
